The hGH Generation

Human growth hormone's use is increasing exponentially as the world enters an age where cosmetic surgery's the norm, and external youth is expected.

It's not surprising then, the use of Human growth hormone, which has exploded all over the USA and Europe, has been hailed as "Cosmetic Surgery in a bottle".

It's far reaching benefits range from muscle building to anti-aging. But many are sceptical of it's controversial use.

Human Growth hormone or hGH as it's popularly known is a naturally occurring hormone within the body. Post adolescence, it's levels decrease, and our body transitions from "growth" mode, into "maintenance" mode.

Is it worrying then that so many people are pumping their bodies full of human growth hormone, despite our lack of a need?

Yes. Human growth hormone is usually only administered to treat problems such as multiple sclerosis, and growth deficiencies in children. However many A listers and body builders alike are purchasing it either illegally, or having it prescribed under a convenient law that allows doctors to prescribe it if they deem there to be a deficiency.

Human growth hormone despite its benefits, causes a whole host of nasty side effects, that come up from putting our bodies back into a "growth" mode they're not expecting.

Many of the nasty side effects involve excess bone growth causing deformation, such as excessively enlarged hands and feet, as well as protrusion of the jaw and eye brow ridge, which can leave the face horribly disfigured.

Human growth hormone in its current form then, may not be the miracle cure we're after. However many cosmetic companies are pumping millions of dollars into researching it's uses fully, to see if there's a viable solution waiting in the wings.

But for now, it looks like a tamer, more healthy solution is probably the way to go; Testosterone

Testosterone can Prevent Human Growth Hormone Side Effects

Human Growth Hormone has many side effects, that make it undesirable for long term use. If you were to use it for an extended period of time, you would almost definitely suffer medical problems and even death.

The problem isn't with the hormone itself. Human growth hormone is found naturally in body. However, the problem arises when your body has too much of it, and that's why it regulates it naturally.

Adding excess hGH (Human Growth Hormone) into your body, causes it to go into overdrive mode. It's already got enough to maintain normal growth, so it's forced to grow to the extremes.

These extremes, come in the form of bone growth & Organ growth.

The organs most affects by this growth include the heart and tongue. The heart grows abnoramlly large, and can cause diseases such as cardiomyopathy. The tongue also grows excessively large, and these changes are irreversable.

There are many side effects, here's an excerpt from the BBC website that summerizes them;

"Excess HGH in the body can cause acromegaly, a disease where the hands become spade-like in appearance as they get bigger. Growth of the facial bones causes the face to change shape too.

The jaw becomes larger, with spaces appearing between the teeth because of this, and the eyebrows become more prominent. The tongue enlarges and the skin becomes coarse and oily.

Organs like the heart, liver and kidneys will also undergo excessive growth, leading to potentially life-threatening problems - one of which is cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle.

The heart loses its ability to pump blood and, in some instances, heart rhythm is disturbed, leading to irregular heartbeats

There is also an increased risk of cancers due to the abnormal growth of cells."
